The following tables provide statistical data on the date and place of birth of various artists, their age at given times (such as in 1905 and 1917), and the year of their first trips abroad to study art. The reader will note that place of birth does not necessarily indicate non-Russian origin, or even a provincial upbringing; some artists of Russian ethnic background were bom in the provinces and others moved to the capitals at an early age. The years in Munich and Paris indicate residence and art education, rather than travel. The designation “x” indicates association with a particular art exhibit, place of residence, or educational institution.

The sources for the statistical data in the tables are widely scattered.
