gur alroey is a historian of Jewish history in modern times. Since 2021 he has been Provost of the University of Haifa. His main fields of research are Jewish migration in the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century, early Zionism, and the territorial ideology. Professor Alroey is author of three books in English: Bread to Eat and Clothes to Wear: Letters from Jewish Migrants in the Early Twentieth Century; An Unpromising Land: Jewish Migration to Palestine in the Early Twentieth Century; and Zionism without Zion: The Jewish Territorial Organization and Its Conflict with the Zionist Organization.
