“Songs to Seven Strings: Russian Guitar Poetry and Soviet “Mass” Song”
The system of transliteration from Russian Cyrillic used in this book is that of Oxford Slavonic Papers. It is economical, relatively elegant, and does not use diacritics. Exceptions have been made in the spellings of the names Tolstoy and Yevgeny Yevtushenko, which are sanctioned in these forms by common usage.
